Dawson Creek Society for Community Living acknowledges the contribution of the seniors living within and around our community and strive to support them to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.
It is our honour to help seniors to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, providing just enough support to allow them to do so safely. Given the wide array of needs by the many seniors in our community and surrounding area, there is no one solution. Instead we work, in some cases in partnership, to provide a variety of support models to 'meet seniors where they are at'.
Assisted Living
A welcoming, 26 unit apartment-style complex, thoughtfully designed to be fully accessible, this is a great option for those seniors that would like to live independently. We offer a warm and caring environment with personalized services tailored to the seniors lifestyle. Working closely with each senior, we create a plan as unique as they, protecting their independence while ensuring their safety through providing access to staff 24/7.
Urban Seniors Services
Welcome to the initiative where we cherish the Golden Years and aim to support the seniors within our community, by offering a weekly nutritious meal and essential grocery shopping service.
We take pride in the delivery of these meals and do so with a smile and a kind word, ensuring sustenance, as well as, a social connection that can brighten their day. For those wishing to dine with others, our housing complexes offer community dining spaces, where friendships can blossom over shared stories and laughter.
Our dedicated team is commited to ensuring that seniors in need, whether residing in our housing or independently within City limits, has access to a wholesome, balanced meal.
Our Grocery Shoppping service, is available to seniors in the community that need support getting what they need. It is as simple as calling and placing your order.
Seniors Aging in Place (SAIP) Program
Dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors residing in Area D and parts of Area E of the PRRD, this program was designed to empower people to remain in the comfort of their own home for as long as possible. By offering supports aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by seniors living in a rural setting, this program is designed to support them to remain independent; supports available include meals, housekeeping and snow removal.
