The Home Support program focuses on skill building within the home for individuals with developmental disabilities living independently.
They are supported to learn and/or maintain the life skills necessary to be successful in their independence. The program is highly personalized to ensure everyone’s specific needs are met. The goal for this program is to get / keep people living independently in their own homes.
Some of the skills that people will work on learning and /or maintaining in order to ensure successful independence within their homes are as follows:
Creating grocery lists, including learning to read flyers in order to find sales to make their money stretch further.
Creating / finding healthy menus and recipes and learn to follow food safe practices.
Learning how to follow recipes / how to cook / how to safely use appliances.
Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, laundry, dishes.
