Self Help Skills

The Self Help Skills Program provides instruction and assistance to developmentally disabled adults, to develop the skills necessary to complete tasks associated with daily living. This program is designed to work cooperatively with the individual and their family in order to set goals and establish strategies that will promote a greater degree of independence. The ultimate goal of the Self Help Skills Program is to assist individuals with building the skills necessary to become self-sufficient, fully independent members of the community. Individuals accessing this program may currently be living at home or independently.

 

 

Support staff will assist with developing skills in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • Communication
  • Self Care
  • Community Interaction
  • Social Skills
  • Relationship education
  • Home and Daily living tasks (cooking, hygiene, shopping, paying bills, banking)
