Semi Independent Living (Supported Living)

The Semi Independent Living Program, otherwise known as Supported Living, is available to developmentally disabled adults living in their own homes within the community. This program provides individuals with skill building opportunities and assistance with daily living.

Cluster Living is also available to individuals living within their own homes that are in close proximity to each other. Staff divides their time among the individuals within the Cluster, accordingly, depending on the level of support needed by each individual.

Support and assistance are provided to all individuals within the Semi Independent Living Program, in a variety of aspects, including but not limited to:

  • Budgeting
  • Household management
  • Personal care
  • Establishing social networks, including family relationships
  • Assistance with accessing educational opportunities
  • Employment assistance – finding and maintaining employment
  • Assistance accessing Health and Counselling services

This program creates a safe, supportive atmosphere in which individuals can work towards developing the skills necessary to participate fully in their own lives, to the extent which they are able.  For more information on eligibility go to http://www.communitylivingbc.ca.
