Community Services

Dawson Creek Society for Community Living (DCSCL) provides services and supports to adults (individuals over 19) with developmental disabilities; as well as, transitional services to young adults who will soon turn 19.  Many services provided by DCSCL are funded by Community Living BC (CLBC) ad therefore, must meet criteria set by CLBC to receive such services. Residential Services

Dawson Creek Society for Community Living has numerous residential services with two group homes Canalta and 115th Residence both of which are located in a residential neighborhoods and are staffed 24 hours per day. The residences have been designed to reflect individual’s lifestyles, choice, personality, sense of ownership and security. Contracted Respite care is also available at both residences.

Community Inclusion

Dawson Creek Society for Community Living provides a variety of community inclusion programs. These programs are designed to support individuals to have rich rewarding lives within our community. The types of support provided depends upon individual needs, preferences and goals. Programs offered include Semi Independent Living, Self Help Skills, The Opportunity Centre, and Home Support.

Employment Services

Dawson Creek Society for Community Living offers the Access Supported Work  program which provides vocational training and job coaching for community employment.  Our Confidential Shredding Business offers employment to adults with developmental disabilities within our Community. We can destroy over 400 lbs. of information an hour with no need to remove paper clips, Acco fasteners, rubber bands, file folders, hanging file folders, binders etc.
